Parent Group Network

August 2024

Our Parent Group Network provides educational open discussions among parents with young children and/or teens. While every parent is an expert at parenting their children many feel alone in their struggle. It is expected for parents to search for ideas on how to handle normal teen issues, as well as seek answers to a particular parenting difficulty. The goal of PGN is designed to build community while supporting parents, single or coupled, in the challenging process of parenting adolescents in unprecedented times.

Subjects the PGN may cover:

  • Why do my pre-teens act the way they do?
  • Why teens act the way they do?
  • What are signs of depression in teens?
  •  Education regarding popular drug names in the Dallas area.
  •  Working with the Dallas County Probation Office
  • Divorce and co-parenting
  • Guided group discussions
  • Completion of court orders

Tools offered through PGN:

  • Skills for confident parenting
  • Better understanding of parental roles and boundaries
  • Parent resources
  • Parent networking in a social setting
